Sewn From The Stars is a Korean Fairytale based on some of my favorite stories from my childhood. Growing up, I loved all kind of fairytales but I was never able to find one that I could truly identify with. As a Korean adoptee, all of my family and friends looked different from me. From a young age my understanding of beauty was blonde and blue eyes.
I decided I wanted to write and illustrate a tale that resonated with other children like me. My travels and my love of magic and all things floral drove me to create this book painted in digital watercolor.

I designed a series of illustrated phone wallpapers using digital watercolor. I was inspired by the beauty of the Korean traditional dress called hanbok. I use the same method of digital illustration in Corel Painter, and them clipping the textures into flat shapes in Adobe Illustrator.
